Haltom's Jewelers Completed

Thanks, all of you readers who followed this painting along with me.   I never felt alone in the endeavor.  Thank you for the posted responses, the encouragement and above all, your continued interest.  I’m happy that this one is finally closed and in the books.  I’ll be taking it to the Weiler House Gallery for framing today.  You can check out the website of my gallery at http://www.weilerhousefineart.com.

    The detail in this is phenomenal, David. I like the feeling the painting gives of and the scene reminds me of a scen from my past, but that was in Wilmette, Illinois. 🙂 My favorite part is still the upper windows. Thank you for sharing your process. Makes me appreciate all you put into a painting like this.

      Leslie, thank you. My friends admire the clock, but my favorite part is the two 2nd-story windows, particularly the one on the right. That was completely new territory for me. I’m getting ready to pursue some historic Route 66 subjects next. Really excited about those prospects.

      I so appreciate your kind word. I am indeed proud of this one, and cannot wait to start another large piece. I wonder why I waited so long to try larger compositions!

    Bravo David! This one will knock their socks off. The colors in the foreground window and the shadows that run from it to the clock are vibrant with life. The clock is a beautiful piece of work. Very nicely done.

      Thanks so much, Linda. I’ve been away, visiting St. Louis for a week, and got away from the blog. I just now picked up this complimentary post from you. I’m happy with the colors I’ve used in this work–colors I’ve never worked with previously. I was particularly intimidated by that monumental clock!
