My Last Full Day on the Laguna Madre


Rising shortly after 6 this morning, I did my usual chores, then around 7 I looked out and saw a depth of color I hadn’t seen earlier. So I took the opportunity again to try and paint these exotic clouds, then lay down some deep washes for the water. I felt a kinship with Mark Rothko. I very seldom work with flat washes of color. I’m going to give this some serious scrutiny in future attempts

    Beautiful, rich tones and cloud layering. It almost starts shape-changing as I gaze.
