Another Framed Watercolor for the Gallery

oxbow angled

I just got one of my recent watercolors back from the frame shop. This is my second painting of the Oxbow General Store located in Old Town Palestine, not far from The Redlands Hotel. I’ll put it up for sale in The Gallery at Redlands later in the week. We’re asking $500 for this one, $700 for the larger one posted below.

That smaller picture is very atmospheric. I feel as though I could walk into the shop. the larger is much more of a fleeting image, it has the feeling of a glimpse impressed on the memory, perhaps spotted from the window of a vehicle. I could happily live with either of them.

Thank you for commenting, Tony. I didn’t think the smaller one was too good till I got it back from the frame shop. Amazing what a frame does to dress up an image. I’m having trouble choosing my favorite among the two now.
